Bareksa, popularly known as ‘Bloomberg for Beginners’, is a trading platform that allows even the layperson to make an informed decision to invest in the financial markets.  It is a fintech initiative that attempts to combine journalism and financial research and utilize content including articles, research and data to generate transaction based revenue in capital market/ investing areas. Not only does it provide content and information to novice investors it also provides the trading platform on which they can initiate their first trade. By empowering more people to become first time investors it has fostered greater inclusion and participation of citizens in the country’s financial markets. Bareksa currently features 700 local companies that are listed for trading on the platform. Thus, Bareksa not only empowers beginners to take their first step in financial investment but is also bolsters the overall investment climate by enabling active trading and investment. The driving force behind Bareksa is the need to make financial markets more transparent to the ordinary citizens, thereby enabling them to understand its dynamics.
