Remzi Lani is the Executive Director of the Albanian Media Institute. He has a long carrier in journalism: "Zeri i Rinise" (Tirana),  "El Mundo" (Madrid),  “Zeri” (Pristina)  etc.  He is the author of  articles on Balkan affairs for different local and foreign newspapers and magazines. Remzi Lani was the first President of the South East Network of Media Centers and Media Institutes, which brings together 15 Media Institutes/ Media Centers from SEE. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the GFMD and a member of the Board of WAN-IFRA etc. He has been working as a media freedom consultant in Yemen, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, Armenia, and BiH etc. He was also a founding member of the first Human Rights Group in Albania (The Forum for Human Rights), 1990.
