Wesley Gibbings is a Trinidad & Tobago based journalist/media trainer/author who has been in the media business for over 30 years. He writes a weekly column for the Trinidad & Tobago Guardian, is a news correspondent for several regional and international agencies, and serves as president of the Association of Caribbean MediaWorkers (ACM). He is also an alternate member of the GFMD Steering Committee for the Latin American and Caribbean region and is on the Council of the International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX). Gibbings is a prominent press freedom advocate in the Caribbean and the author of numerous conference papers and contributions to manuals focused on the practice of journalism in his part of the world. He is also a published poet.
